Who is Alissa Golob?

Alissa started RightNow with her business partner, Scott Hayward. This new and effective organization works to have pro-life politicians elected. She's served for 9 years in the pro-life movement and is an accomplished activist, blogger, public speaker & political commentator. She is young, knowledgeable, and knows how to rally others on the ground to be more politically aware. She is regularly invited to speak and has appeared before the media such as Huffington Post, CBC, Global Television, CHCH, CTV, City TV, CTS, and MTV. She was also a regular on the former Sun News Network. She frequently travels across the country to speak at conferences, high schools, universities and other events on the abortion issue.

Why this presentation is relevant to young professional?
Because law and medicine are teachers of society, most people will assume that the lack of any protection for the pre-born must mean that abortion is morally permissible. There is very little public discussion in Canada about abortion and many politicians prefer to leave the subject untouched. In contrast, globally, there is much more interest in ensuring lobsters are not boiled alive to protect them from pain. Don’t forget, during abortion procedures the fetus will feel much pain. There are also many hidden abuses in the abortion industry which the mainstream society does not want to address. Women suffer much harm to their bodies, mind, and spirit when they undergo an abortion and unfortunately the public discourse is very one sided.

Young professionals can be very effective in organizing their peers and being active in the political process. The upcoming 2019 Canadian elections will have significant outcome in protecting the pre-born and educating the public about the intrinsic value of life, from the moment of conception to its natural end.

** Mission of the YP Lounge

The YP Lounge is a life and career mentorship program for young professionals in their 20s and 30s.

The YP Lounge is developed by the same creators as Catholic After Hours(TM)

Young adults will be more confident in their career, dating ventures, their view of marriage and family, and understand which aspects of today's culture are not compatible with a culture of life.

Young professionals will also be knowledgeable, savvy, and more fulfilled as persons when they understand how to define human dignity, authentic freedom, happiness, and liberty.

Philosophical, objective and scientific truths, natural law, virtue, and universal principles will be their guide. This is the key to building a flourishing society, that also promotes a culture of life and not a culture of death.

The monthly events are presented by dynamic ‘talk show hosts’ and an informed guest panel who can address relevant issues and provide insights by analyzing pop culture, the frontiers of science, philosophy, law, medicine, ethics, political philosophy, religion and the social sciences.

** Mentorship Program launches April 2019

Young adults' passionate voices have been heard! They want good role models and mentors whom they can approach for guidance. A faith filled young person will encounter many obstacles in career and life, so what better way than to be matched to another Catholic (or person who shares the same faith) to walk you through life's journey!

Young people are looking at ways to excel in their careers and be their best.

The Mentorship program will be launched at April + May 2019. Come to our meet and greet events to self match over drinks and appys.

**Who organizes The YP Lounge?

The YP Lounge is a program of Vancouver’s Life Community, formerly Vancouver Right to Life Society, which is a non denominational organization that has been a registered charity since 1980. Vancouver's Life Community works innovatively to bring healing to the culture on the Life issues.
